Second Stage Round 6: Liaoning - Henan 67-69

Important game to mention about took place in Anshan. Fifth ranked Henan (2-4) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging second-best Liaoning Hengye (4-2) 69-67 on Saturday evening. The guests were ahead by 7 points but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 21-17 run, which allowed them to win the game. Henan brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. It was a good game for American forward Tianna Hawkins (191-91, college: Maryland) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points, 16 rebounds and 7 blocks. The former international forward Xiaoli Chen (193-82) contributed with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American center Kara Braxton (198-83, college: Georgia) replied with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds and international forward Feng Cheng (186-90) added 7 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Liaoning Hengye. Four Liaoning Hengye players scored in double figures. Henan moved-up to fourth place in Play Out. Liaoning Hengye at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with Jiangsu. Henan will play against Heilongjiang Chenneng (#5) in Harbin in the next round. Liaoning Hengye will play on the road against Shandong in Jinan and hopes to get back on the winning track.
