There was a minor upset in Jemappes where 4th placed Belfius Mons-Hainaut (4-5) was defeated by ninth ranked Antwerp Giants (4-5) 94-76. The guests were ahead by 15 points but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 24-15 run, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for Antwerp Giants especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.1 percentage. American guard Kwame Vaughn (190-90, college: CS Fullerton) nailed 25 points (made all of his eight free throws) for the winning side and his fellow American import Melsahn Basabe (201-92, college: Iowa) accounted for 21 points and 6 rebounds. Four Antwerp Giants players scored in double figures. Antwerp Giants' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American-Bulgarian point guard Andre Collins (183-82, college: Loyola, MD) came up with 19 points and 6 assists and American forward Robert Arnold (198-88, college: Boise St.) added 18 points and 4 steals respectively for Belfius Mons-Hainaut in the defeat. Antwerp Giants moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Mons-Hainaut. Belfius Mons-Hainaut lost fourth consecutive game. Antwerp Giants will play against league's leader Oostende at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Belfius Mons-Hainaut will play against Leuven Bears (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
