Regular Season Round 9: United - 36ers 89-86

Date: December 6, 2015
Fifth-ranked Adelaide 36ers (7-8) made lots of trouble for first ranked United (11-4) in Melbourne. United managed to secure only three-point victory 89-86. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Adelaide 36ers won third quarter 20-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for the former international guard Chris Goulding (192-88) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Stephen Holt (193-91, college: St.Mary's, CA) contributed with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American-Ukrainian point guard Jerome Randle (175-87, college: California) answered with 25 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international power forward Anthony Petrie (203-83) added 14 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Adelaide 36ers. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Adelaide 36ers' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. United maintains first place with 11-4 record. Adelaide 36ers at the other side keep the fifth position with eight games lost. United will play against league's second-placed Perth Wildcats on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Adelaide 36ers will play against Townsville Crocodiles and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
