Regular Season Round 9: AZS Koszalin - MKS DG 87-75

No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked AZS Koszalin (6-5) defeated at home 11th ranked MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (4-6) 87-75 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by AZS Koszalin. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza was better in second period 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when AZS Koszalin won last quarter 25-14. The best player for the winners was American point guard A.J. Walton (184-90, college: Baylor) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 steals. Czech Patrik Auda (206-89, college: Seton Hall) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Four AZS Koszalin players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Sam Dower (206-90, college: Gonzaga) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and American-Samoan point guard Rashaun Broadus (180-84, college: BYU, agency: Octagon Europe) added 21 points and 4 assists respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. AZS Koszalin maintains eighth place with 6-5 record. Loser MKS Dabrowa Gornicza dropped to the twelfth position with six games lost. AZS Koszalin will face higher ranked Asseco (#5) in Gdynia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. MKS Dabrowa Gornicza will play on the road against Slask (#16) in Wroclaw and hope to win that game.
