The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Lucca as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Lucca defeated 5th ranked Di Lupari at home 74-57. The game was mostly controlled by Lucca. Di Lupari managed to win second period 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lucca dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Di Lupari's 32. Lucca forced 24 Di Lupari turnovers. American-New Zealand guard Jillian Harmon (185-87, college: Stanford, agency: Players Group) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and international point guard Francesca Dotto (170-93, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 14 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. Four Lucca players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American swingman Jasmine Bailey (172-90, college: Ill.-Chicago) with 15 points and 7 rebounds and the former international forward Silvia Favento (185-85) scored 14 points. Lucca (9-0) have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Di Lupari at the other side dropped to the sixth place with four games lost. Di Lupari will play next round against strong Ragusa trying to get back on the winning streak.
