Very expected game when 10th ranked Angers (2-6) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Basket Landes (6-2) 66-53 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 13 points. Basket Landes dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Angers' 22. The best player for the winners was Croatian center Iva Sliskovic (190-84, college: S.Carolina) who had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds. Canadian power forward Miranda Ayim (191-88, college: Pepperdine) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Basket Landes players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Marie Mane (183-95, agency: Comsport) who recorded 17 points and American-Lithuanian forward Sofija Aleksandravicius (196-91, college: Davidson, agency: LBM Management) added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Basket Landes moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Bourges. Loser Angers keeps the tenth position with six games lost. They share it with Hainaut. Basket Landes will meet at home higher ranked Lattes Montpellier (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
