Regular Season Round 22: Shimane SM - Saitama Bron. 101-75

Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Saitama Broncos (1-17) were rolled over on the road by fourth ranked Shimane Magic (14-6) 101-75 on Sunday. The game without a history. Shimane Magic led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Shimane Magic outrebounded Saitama Broncos 42-29 including 33 on the defensive glass. American forward Josh Davis (203-91, college: San Diego St.) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 20 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple) chipped in 23 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Shimane Magic's coach Michael Katsuhisa felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Janya Masumoto (183-88) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and American power forward Evan Harris (206-86, college: Harvard, agency: I.D.S. Law) scored 14 points. Five Shimane Magic and four Saitama Broncos players scored in double figures. Shimane Magic have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Saitama Broncos lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Shimane Magic will face Aomori Watts (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Saitama Broncos will play against Hiroshima L. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
