Regular Season Round 5: Al Khor - Al Jaysh 86-101

The game in Al Khor was also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Al Jaysh (4-1) played at the court of 5th ranked Al Khor (2-3). Al Jaysh defeated Al Khor 101-86. The game was mostly controlled by Al Jaysh. Al Khor was better in fourth quarter 35-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Al Khor 50-29 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Al Jaysh players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Vernon Macklin (208-86, college: Florida) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists (on 13-of-15 shooting from the field). American-Jordanian guard Alex Legion (195-88, college: FIU) chipped in 23 points and 6 rebounds. Four Al Jaysh players scored in double figures. Al Jaysh's coach Dragoslav Milovanovic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Ivorian-American swingman Charles Abouo (197-89, college: BYU, agency: Dynamics Global Management) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and American point guard Patrick Rembert (185-89, college: Cal-Irvine) added 28 points and 6 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) respectively for the hosts. Al Jaysh moved-up to third place. Al Khor at the other side keeps the fifth position with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
