We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Pelpin where one of their biggest challengers Pelplin (6-4) was defeated by fifth ranked Asseco II (6-2) 92-82 on Sunday. Asseco II outrebounded Pelplin 42-31 including 16 on the offensive glass. Guard Marcin Wielunski (196-96) scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Bartosz Jankowski (193-96) chipped in 24 points during the contest. Five Asseco II players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Wiktor Czyzewski (196-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and the former international swingman Bartosz Sarzalo (197-83) scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Asseco II moved-up to fourth place in Group A. Newly promoted Pelplin dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. Asseco II will face Koscian (#6) at home in the next round. Pelplin will play against Basket Pila and hope to win that game.
