Regular Season Round 11: Scafati Cesarano - Isernia 93-76

Everything went according to plan when eighth ranked Scafati Cesarano (6-5) won against at home 12th ranked Isernia (3-8) 93-76 on Sunday. They outrebounded Isernia 36-23 including 28 on the defensive glass. Scafati Cesarano shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Isernia's players. The best player for the winners was naturalized Croatian forward Marko Mlinar (200-83) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). Guard Niccolo Petrucci (193-89) chipped in 17 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Scafati Cesarano players scored in double figures. Scafati Cesarano's coach Luigi Iovino used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. point guard Mirko Gentili (195-93) produced 16 points and 6 assists and swingman Alessandro Guagliardi (194-94) added 16 points respectively for the guests. Scafati Cesarano moved-up to sixth place in B, which they share with Vicenza and Lecco. Loser Isernia keeps the twelfth position with eight games lost. Scafati Cesarano will face higher ranked Cassino (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Isernia will play against Palermo (#5) and hope to win that game.
