Regular Season Round 11: Cartagena - Valencia II 62-83

Very expected game when bottom-ranked Cartagena (0-10) was rolled over at home by fourth ranked Valencia-2 (6-4) 83-62 on Sunday. Valencia-2 outrebounded Cartagena 39-28 including 28 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward David Guardia (200-90) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Center Borja Soriano (204-96) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Valencia-2's coach felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Jorge Lledo (203-80) produced 21 points and 6 rebounds and forward Alberto Ballesta (202-95) added 10 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Valencia-2 maintains fourth place in Group E with 6-4 record. Cartagena lost their tenth game in a row. They still close the standings with ten games lost. Valencia-2 will face league's leader Gandia Basquet at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Cartagena will play against L`Alfas (#5) in Alfas Del Pi and hopes to get finally their first victory.
