Regular Season Round 11: Falconara - Senigallia 73-75

A very interesting game took place in Falconara. It ended with only two-point home defeat of leader Falconara (9-2) to seventh ranked Senigallia (6-5) 75-73 on Sunday evening. 24 personal fouls committed by Falconara helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for forward Mirco Pierantoni (200-81) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 20 rebounds. Guard Marco Gnaccarini (185-81) accounted for 15 points and 5 assists for the winning side. The former international guard Gennaro Tessitore (193-82) came up with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and power forward Marco Maganza (204-91) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Falconara in the defeat. Five Senigallia and four Falconara players scored in double figures. Senigallia moved-up to sixth place in B, which they share with Vicenza and Lecco. Newly promoted Falconara dropped to the second position with two games lost. Senigallia's next round opponent will be higher ranked Campli (#4) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Falconara will play against the league's leader Montegrano in Montenegrano and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
