Regular Season Round 18: Chanson V-M - JX-Eneos S. 63-67

An interesting game for JX-Eneos S. (15-1) which played road game in Shizuoka against second-best Chanson V-M (13-3). First ranked JX-Eneos S. managed to get a 4-point victory 67-63. Chanson V-M was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. JX-Eneos S. made 21-of-24 free shots (87.5 percent) during the game. The former international forward Yuka Mamiya (185-90) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) to lead the effort and international point guard Asami Yoshida (165-87) supported her with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists. Four JX-Eneos S. players scored in double figures. Even 25 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists by international forward Sanae Motokawa (175-92) did not help to save the game for Chanson V-M. Guard Minaho Minamiminoru (167-93) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Defending champion maintains first position with 15-1 record. Loser Chanson V-M keeps the second place with three games lost. They share the position with Fujitsu RW and Toyota A.. JX-Eneos S. will meet at home league's second-placed Fujitsu RW in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Chanson V-M will play against Mitsubishi K. and hope to secure a win.
