Regular Season Round 9: Gorizont - Sozh-GGU 107-25

An interesting game for Gorizont (7-2) which hosted in Minsk 4th placed Sozh-GGU (6-5). Third ranked Gorizont had an easy win 107-25. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Sozh-GGU. The game without a history. Gorizont led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They held Sozh-GGU to an opponent 13.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 54.0 percent accuracy of the winners. Gorizont forced 21 Sozh-GGU turnovers and outrebounded them 50-22 including a 21-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 1 passes made by Sozh-GGU's players. Maryia Adashchyk (180-98) nailed 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and guard Tatsiana Tsyruliova (168-88) accounted for 8 points and 12 assists. Four Gorizont players scored in double figures. Coach Nataliya Trafimava's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Katsiaryna Nialepka (178-93) came up with 6 points and 7 rebounds and forward Elena Gorelikova (178-92) added 9 points respectively for Sozh-GGU in the defeat. Gorizont maintains third place with 7-2 record behind leader Olimpia. Loser Sozh-GGU keeps the fourth position with five games lost. Gorizont will meet at home Victoria (#7) in the next round. Sozh-GGU will play against BrGU COR Victoria in Brest and hope to secure a win.
