Regular Season Round 10: Maccabi T-A - Hapoel Eilat 96-69

Very predictable result in Tel-Aviv where fourth ranked Maccabi T-A (7-3) smashed 10th ranked Hapoel Eilat (3-7) 96-69 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi T-A. Hapoel Eilat was better in third quarter 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi T-A forced 25 Hapoel Eilat turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American swingman Devin Smith (196-83, college: Virginia) scored 19 points to lead the charge for the winners and American-Montenegrin point guard Taylor Rochestie (185-85, college: Washington St.) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists during the contest. Maccabi T-A's coach Zan Tabak felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American Kevin Palmer (198-87, college: Texas A&M-CC, agency: Comsport) responded with 11 points and 9 rebounds and Nigerian power forward Alade Aminu (210-87, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Three Eye Sports) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Hapoel Eilat players scored in double figures. Maccabi T-A moved-up to third place. Hapoel Eilat lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with seven games lost. Maccabi T-A's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tel-Aviv to the arena Hapoel Tel-Aviv.
