There was a minor upset in Varese where higher ranked Openjobmetis VA (4-6) was defeated by thirteenth ranked Scandone AV (4-6) 93-81 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Scandone AV. Openjobmetis VA was better in second period 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Openjobmetis VA 37-23 including 27 on the defensive glass. Scandone AV moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Openjobmetis VA. Scandone AV will face Auxilium TO (#15) in Torino in the next round where they are favorite.
