Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Doha: Al Sadd (#2) and Qatar Sports Club (#7). Al Sadd (5-0) won against visiting Qatar Sports Club (1-4) 87-72. The game was mostly controlled by Al Sadd. Qatar Sports Club managed to win third quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Al Sadd looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was international swingman Khalid Abdi (198-87) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. International swingman Saad Abdulrahman Ali (193-85) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds. Al Sadd's coach Zoran Kreckovic used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Rashad Woods (197-86, college: Kent St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists and his fellow American import power forward Malcolm White (205-88, college: LSU) added 11 points and 13 rebounds respectively. Al Sadd have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Al Rayyan. Loser Qatar Sports Club keeps the seventh place with four games lost. They share the position with Al Arabi and Al Shamal. Al Sadd's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Doha to the arena Al Shamal.
