Regular Season Round 15: Foshan LL - Qingdao E. 111-116

Rather expected game when 19th ranked Foshan (3-12) was defeated at home by seventeenth ranked Qingdao Eagles (5-10) 116-111 on Tuesday. Foshan was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Foshan was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St., agency: Three Eye Sports) who scored 46 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import center Alan Williams (203-93, college: UCSB) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points and 19 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Jerrelle Benimon (203-91, college: Towson) who recorded a double-double by scoring 31 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and swingman Mingxin Ju (200-93) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Four Qingdao Eagles and five Foshan players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Qingdao Eagles moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Jiangsu TX. Loser Foshan dropped to the eighteenth position with 12 games lost. Qingdao Eagles will face higher ranked Liaoning Hunters (#4) in Yingkou in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Foshan will play on the road against Shanxi Zhongyu (#14) in Taiyuan and hope to win that game.
