There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Bologna (4-5) lost on the road to tenth ranked Palermo (4-4) 65-56 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 41-29 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Palermo dominated on the defensive end, holding Bologna to just 6 points in second quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of Lithuanian Julita Bungaite (187-87, college: Hawaii, agency: Promotex) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Forward Giulia Manzotti (176-93) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Guard Chiara Mini (165-86) replied with 25 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Chiara Cadoni (182-94) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Bologna. Bologna's coach Matteo Lolli rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Palermo moved-up to seventh place in A2. Bologna at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. Palermo will face Civitanova (#10) in Civitanova Marche in the next round.
