Regular Season Round 9: Bauru - Mogi 90-74

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Mogi (4-3) lost on the road to second ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (7-1) 90-74 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Paschoalotto/Bauru. Mogi managed to win second period 22-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Mogi 41-29 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Paschoalotto/Bauru looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international center Rafael Hettsheimer (206-86) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and international guard Alex Garcia (191-80, agency: Interperformances) accounted for 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Paschoalotto/Bauru players scored in double figures. American forward Tyrone Curnell (203-88, college: Valdosta St.) came up with 16 points and 9 rebounds and the former international point guard Larry Taylor (185-80, college: Missouri Western) added 7 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists respectively for Mogi in the defeat. Mogi's coach Danilo Padovani rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Paschoalotto/Bauru maintains second place with 7-1 record behind leader Paulistano. Loser Mogi dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Paschoalotto/Bauru will meet at home Sao Jose/Vinac (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mogi will play against Vivo/Franca (#4) in Sao Paulo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
