Regular Season Round 15: DongGuan L. - Shanghai S. 106-100

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked Shanghai Sharks' (7-8) road loss to ninth ranked DongGuan Leopards (8-6) 100-106 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 35-23 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when DongGuan Leopards made 8 blocks. Shanghai Sharks were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was point guard Bobby Brown (188-84, college: CS Fullerton) who scored 45 points (!!!) and 4 assists. Dominic McGuire (206-85, college: Fresno St., agency: Priority Sports) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard A.J. Price (188-86, college: Connecticut) who recorded 37 points (!!!) and 4 assists and power forward Bernard James (208-85, college: Florida St.) added 23 points and 16 rebounds respectively. Five DongGuan Leopards and four Shanghai Sharks players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. DongGuan Leopards moved-up to eighth place. Loser Shanghai Sharks keep the tenth position with eight games lost. DongGuan Leopards will face higher ranked Zhejiang Chouzhou Bank (#7) in Hangzhou in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Shanghai Sharks will play at home against Sichuan BW and hope to win that game.
