A very interesting game took place in Sorocabana. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 12th ranked Liga Sorocaba (2-6) to seventh ranked Minas (5-5) 61-58 on Thursday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Liga Sorocaba was ahead by 7 points after three quarters before a 21-11 charge of Minas, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of center Ralfi Ansaloni (211-87) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 5 rebounds. Puerto Rican guard Isaac Sosa Carrion (190-90, college: Canisius) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Luiz Paulo Dos Santos (206-89, college: Slippery Rock) replied with 9 points and 9 rebounds and guard Arlindo Neto (187-86) added 12 points in the effort for Liga Sorocaba. Liga Sorocaba's coach Rinaldo Rodrigues tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Minas maintains seventh position with 5-5 record. Liga Sorocaba lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourteenth place with six games lost. Minas' next round opponent will be higher ranked Flamengo (#3) in Rio de Janeiro and it may be quite challenging game. Liga Sorocaba will play on the road against Mogi (#5) in Mogi das Cruzes and hope to win that game.
