Regular Season Round 10: Wildcats - United 113-83

NBL round 10 caused change at the leadership position. Fifth defeat of league's leader United (11-5) against first ranked Perth Wildcats (11-5) 113-83 was the most important game of the last round. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 16-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 113-83. Perth Wildcats shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by United's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Perth Wildcats made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jermaine Beal (191-87, college: Vanderbilt) who helped to win the game recording 40 points (!!!) and 7 assists. The other American import forward Casey Prather (196-91, college: Florida) contributed with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international power forward Daniel Kickert (208-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) replied with 23 points and American guard Stephen Holt (193-91, college: St.Mary's, CA) added 15 points and 4 assists in the effort for United. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Perth Wildcats have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-5 record, which they share with defeated United. United will play next round against Kings trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Perth Wildcats will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Townsville Crocodiles in Wulguru.
