Rather predictable result in Urumqi where third ranked Xinjiang (14-4) defeated 6th ranked Shanxi Rui Flame (9-11) 86-78 on Thursday. Shanxi Rui Flame trailed by 17 points after 3 quarters before a 23-14 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 78-86 at the end of the game. Xinjiang forced 19 Shanxi Rui Flame turnovers. The best player for the winners was American center Tina Charles (193-88, college: Connecticut) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Lee Wang (170-92) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Xinjiang players scored in double figures. Australian forward Penny Taylor (185-81) produced 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international center Wei Wei (206-89) added 12 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the guests.
