Regular Season Round 5: Flying Foxes - ICIM Arad 85-65

Romanian ICIM Arad (4-1) recorded its first loss in Wien. Visitors were rolled over by fifth ranked Austrian Flying Foxes (4-2) 85-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of ICIM Arad. It looked good early as ICIM Arad took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Flying Foxes had a 24-12 second period charge getting the lead and ICIM Arad was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-85. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Aaryn Ellenberg (170-92, college: Oklahoma) orchestrated the victory by scoring 37 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Chastity Reed (185-89, college: UALR) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Forward Shawnta Dyer (185-91, college: Louisville) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Kristen McCarthy (182-90, college: Temple) added 11 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for ICIM Arad. Despite that victory Flying Foxes went down to sixth position (Group B) due to points difference. ICIM Arad at the other side dropped to the fifth place with one game lost. Flying Foxes will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. ICIM Arad will play at home against SBS Ostrava (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
