Regular Season Round 5: Bank of Taiwan - Fubon Braves 66-68

Important game to mention about was the one when fifth ranked Fubon Braves (3-3) saved a 2-point victory edging 7th ranked Bank of Taiwan (1-5) 68-66 on Friday evening. Fubon Braves took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Bank of Taiwan won third quarter 20-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Fubon Braves won last quarter 19-18. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Bank of Taiwan's 32. American center Earl Barron (211-81, college: Memphis) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and center Xingzhi Yang (195-93) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Fubon Braves' coach Hang-Shu Yan allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Australian center Luke Nevill (218-86, college: Utah) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and the former international forward Shun-Hsiang Chen (190-85) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Four Bank of Taiwan players scored in double figures. Fubon Braves moved-up to third place, which they share with Yulon Luxgen. Bank of Taiwan lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with five games lost. Fubon Braves will play against Dacin Tigers (#5) in the next round. Bank of Taiwan will play against Yulon Luxgen to get more than just one victory in their record.
