Regular Season Round 12: Coruna - Caceres 85-75

There was a minor upset when 12th ranked Caceres Basket (4-8) lost to fourteenth ranked Leyma Basquet (4-8) in Coruna 75-85 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Leyma Basquet. Caceres Basket was better in fourth quarter 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for Georgian Beka Burjanadze (202-94) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds. Center Sergio Olmos (213-86, college: Temple) contributed with 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Leyma Basquet's coach Tito Diaz used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lithuanian forward Rolandas Jakstas (202-92) replied with 12 points and 9 rebounds and Lithuanian center Tautvydas Slezas (207-90, agency: Interperformances) added 11 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Caceres Basket. Four Leyma Basquet and five Caceres Basket players scored in double figures. Leyma Basquet moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Caceres and Forca Lleida. Leyma Basquet will face higher ranked FC Barcelona II (#8) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
