Regular Season Round 16: Beijing Ducks - North Control B. 107-102

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked North Control's (7-9) road loss to ninth ranked Beijing Ducks (9-7) 102-107 on Friday. North Control trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 28-22 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 102-107 at the end of the game. Beijing Ducks made 29-of-36 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. North Control was plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds. The other American import guard Stephon Marbury (188-77, college: Georgia Tech) contributed with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Four Beijing Ducks players scored in double figures. Uruguayan-Spanish power forward Esteban Batista (208-83, agency: Duran International) replied with a double-double by scoring 39 points (!!!), 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and Iranian point guard Mahdi Kamrani (181-82) added 32 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for North Control. North Control's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Defending champion moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Shandong FB. Loser North Control keeps the tenth position with nine games lost. Beijing Ducks will face Foshan (#19) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. North Control will play against the league's second-placed Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
