Regular Season Round 12: Palma - Cocinas.com 74-77

The most exciting game of round 12 in the LEB Gold took place in S'Arenal. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of second-best Palma (9-2) to fifteenth ranked Cocinas.com (3-8) 77-74 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Palma. The guests trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 23-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for American center Babatunde Olumuyiwa (203-92, college: USC Upstate) who led his team to a victory with 19 points. Guard Alberto Ruiz de Galarreta (198-83) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. point guard Mikel Uriz (182-89) replied with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and the former international power forward Ricardo Guillen (207-76, agency: Duran International) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Palma. Four Palma players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Cocinas.com maintains fifteenth position with 3-8 record. Palma at the other side keeps the second place with two games lost. Cocinas.com are looking forward to face higher ranked Burgos (#7) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Palma will play against Oviedo CB (#5) and is hoping to win this game.
