Regular Season Round 11: Brindisi - Stabia 50-51

Very predictable result when fourth ranked Castellammare (6-5) edged on the road 14th ranked Brindisi (2-9) 51-50 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Brindisi won fourth quarter 18-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for center Maria Minervino (194-86) who led her team to a victory scoring 12 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Barbara Negri (184-86) helped adding 4 points and 10 rebounds. Four Castellammare players scored in double figures. The former international swingman Valentina Siccardi (182-82) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds and power forward Sara Lauria (188-91) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Castellammare maintains fourth place in A2 with 6-5 record. Newly promoted Brindisi dropped to the thirteenth position with nine games lost. Castellammare will face league's second-placed La Spezia at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Brindisi will play against Empoli (#10) and hope to win that game.
