Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Ancona (2-9) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Bologna (6-5) 58-46 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Bologna. Ancona was better in second period 11-9. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Ancona to just 4 points in first quarter. It was a great evening for power forward Chiara Cadoni (182-94) who led her team to a victory scoring 16 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Lucia Morsiani (185-92) helped adding 11 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Carola Sordi (181-82) responded with 10 points and 8 rebounds and forward Alice Pieraccini (183-98) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Bologna moved-up to fifth place in A2. Ancona at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the twelfth position with nine games lost. Bologna will face Irpino (#6) in Ariano Irpino in the next round. Ancona will play on the road against the league's leader Ferrara (#1) and hope to win that game.
