Regular Season Round 11: Civitanova - Palermo 63-47

There was a small surprise in Civitanova Marche where tenth ranked Civitanova (5-6) won against 7th ranked Palermo (5-6) 63-47 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 63-47. Civitanova dominated on the defensive end, holding Palermo to just 5 points in second quarter. They also forced 24 Palermo turnovers. It was a great evening for guard Veronica Perini (175-88) who led her team to a victory scoring 29 points and 5 rebounds. Bosnian center Selma Delibasic (193-80) helped adding 10 points and 8 rebounds. point guard Costanza Verona (170-99) responded with 11 points and forward Giulia Manzotti (176-93) scored 11 points. Civitanova moved-up to seventh place in A2. Civitanova will face Viterbo (#9) on the road in the next round. Palermo will play against Viareggio and hope to win that game.
