Very predictable result when eleventh ranked Stal Ostrow Wlkp. (5-5) won against at home bottom-ranked Polpharma (1-9) 75-67 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 44-34 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Polpharma was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American guard Curtis Millage (188-81, college: Arizona St.) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international Marcin Sroka (201-81, agency: Promotex) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Four Stal Ostrow Wlkp. players scored in double figures. American center Damien Kinloch (203-80, college: Tenn Tech) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Marcin Flieger (185-84, agency: Promotex) added 15 points and 4 assists in the effort for Polpharma. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Stal Ostrow Wlkp. moved-up to ninth place. Polpharma lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Stal Ostrow Wlkp. will face higher ranked Twarde Pierniki (#3) in Torun in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Polpharma will play at home against PGE Turow (#13) and hope to win that game.
