Regular Season Round 11: AZS AGH Alstom - MKS DG 2 98-65

Date: December 12, 2015
Not a big story in a game in Krakow where bottom-ranked MKS DG 2 (0-11) was outplayed by second ranked AZS AGH Alstom (10-1) 98-65 on Saturday. AZS AGH Alstom dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to MKS DG 2's 40. AZS AGH Alstom forced 19 MKS DG 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 58-24 including a 25-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. AZS AGH Alstom looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by MKS DG 2's players. The best player for the winners was guard Tomasz Zych (185-87) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 7 rebounds and 15 assists. Guard Robert Kolka (184-93) chipped in 20 points and 5 assists. Five AZS AGH Alstom players scored in double figures. point guard Patryk Wieczorek (188-96) produced 17 points and Jakub Wantuch (195-98) added 9 points and 4 steals respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for AZS AGH Alstom. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Kotwica and Polonia Bytom. MKS DG 2 lost their eleventh game in a row. They still close the standings with 11 games lost. AZS AGH Alstom will face Zaglebie (#7) in Sosnowiec in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. MKS DG 2 will play on the road against Pogon RS (#8) in Ruda Slaska and hopes to get finally their first victory.
