Regular Season Round 11: Araski AES - Badajoz 78-51

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Araski AES (7-4) crushed 9th ranked Badajoz BF (3-8) in Vitoria-Gasteiz 78-51 on Saturday. The game without a history. Araski AES led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Badajoz BF's 24. Araski AES forced 22 Badajoz BF turnovers. Arrate Agirre (175-93) orchestrated the victory by scoring 13 points, 5 assists and 6 steals. Argentinian forward Maria Lineira (181-83) contributed with 16 points and 4 steals for the winners. Brazilian-Portuguese forward Larisse Lima (185-88) answered with 11 points and Patricia Zurita added 10 points in the effort for Badajoz BF. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Araski AES. They maintain sixth place in Group A with 7-4 record, which they share with Arxil Pontev. Badajoz BF lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the tenth position with eight games lost. Araski AES will face Real Celta Vigo (#12) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Badajoz BF will play against Cortegada and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
