Very important is a road loss of second ranked Sant Adria (8-3) against seventh ranked Plenilunio (6-5) on Saturday night. Visiting Sant Adria was defeated by Plenilunio in Madrid 78-67. Sant Adria was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Plenilunio made 22-of-27 charity shots (81.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Sant Adria turnovers. Sant Adria was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for center Daira Varas (193-89) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 18 rebounds. Swingman Maria Bolonio (180-85) helped adding 18 points. Plenilunio's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Power forward Marta Claret (185-92) responded with 17 points and Ainhoa Lopez (180-97) scored 16 points and 4 assists. Four Sant Adria players scored in double figures. Plenilunio maintains seventh place in Group B with 6-5 record, which they share with Leganes. Sant Adria at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. They share it with Rivas Promete. Plenilunio will play against higher ranked IF Air Europa (#4) in S'Arenal in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sant Adria will play at home against Leganes and hopes to get back on the winning track.
