Regular Season Round 11: AZS UMCS - Shmoolky W-wa 95-42

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked Shmoolky W-wa's (5-6) road loss to fourth ranked AZS UMCS (7-4) 42-95 on Saturday. AZS UMCS dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Shmoolky W-wa's 26 and made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. AZS UMCS forced 26 Shmoolky W-wa turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Shmoolky W-wa's players. The best player for the winners was forward Rafal Krol (200-87) who scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Bartlomiej Karolak (198-92) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Forward Marcin Nogajski (194-90) produced 8 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Wiktor Nalecz (181-94) added 3 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for AZS UMCS. They moved-up to third place, which they share with AZS PCz and LKS Lodz. Newly promoted Shmoolky W-wa dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. AZS UMCS will face league's second-placed Gimbasket PRZM in Przemysl in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Shmoolky W-wa's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Warszawa to the arena Polonia W-wa.
