Regular Season Round 11: Clavijo - Estela 66-95

Very predictable result in Logrono where fifth ranked Estela (5-2) outscored 10th ranked Clavijo (2-5) 95-66 on Saturday. The game without a history. Estela led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Clavijo's 44. The best player for the winners was American power forward Hikeem Champaigne (206-90, college: Savannah St.) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Pablo Sanchez (198-81) chipped in 18 points and 5 assists. Five Estela players scored in double figures. Forward Daniel Lopez Villanueva (195-89) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds and Lithuanian Mantvydas Staselis (189-94) added 23 points respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Estela maintains fifth place in Group A-A with 5-2 record. Clavijo lost their fourth game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. Estela will face Burgos (#10) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Clavijo will play against La Fecha in Arroyo Encomienda and hope to win that game.
