Regular Season Round 23: Kanazawa Samuraiz - Shinshu BW 108-76

Everything went according to plan in Ishikawa where seventh ranked Kanazawa Samuraiz (11-10) outleveled 10th ranked Shinshu BW (6-13) 108-76 on Saturday. The game without a history. Kanazawa Samuraiz led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Shinshu BW's 34 and made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Kanazawa Samuraiz had a 35-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. Kanazawa Samuraiz looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Marshall Brown (200-85, college: Missouri) who scored 21 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. His fellow American import power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) chipped in 22 points and 8 rebounds. American power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St., agency: Comsport) produced a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 4 blocks and Yasuhiko Wada (181-90) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Kanazawa Samuraiz and four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kanazawa Samuraiz moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Yokohama BC and Gunma. Shinshu BW lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 13 games lost. Kanazawa Samuraiz will face again Shinshu BW (#10) in Nagano in the next round.
