Regular Season Round 11: Alba Chorzow - Pogon RS 79-73

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Alba Chorzow and 6th ranked Pogon RS had identical 5-5 record. This time Alba Chorzow used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Ruda Slaska 79-73 on Saturday night. Pogon RS was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was power forward Marcin Weselak (204-79) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 18 rebounds. Guard Jakub Maksymiuk (192-93) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Adam Wilkin (194-83) produced 12 points and 8 rebounds and center Adam Andula (201-87) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Five Pogon RS players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alba Chorzow (6-5) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with KK Warszawa and Ostrow Mazow. Loser Pogon RS keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Alba Chorzow will face league's leader Polonia Bytom on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Pogon RS will play against MKS DG 2 (#12) and hope to win that game.
