Regular Season Round 14: La Rochelle - GET Vosges 78-72

There was a minor upset when 7th ranked GET Vosges (7-6) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked La Rochelle (8-6) 78-72 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 28-20. But GET Vosges won second period 22-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. La Rochelle made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game. GET Vosges was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was guard Faycal Sahraoui (186-79) who scored 16 points and 8 assists. Forward Jerome Zoe (198-89) chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four La Rochelle players scored in double figures. Forward Steven Ricard (200-90) produced 15 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian guard Nemanja Marinkovic (187-88) added 12 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. La Rochelle moved-up to sixth place, which they share with SAP Vaucluse. Loser GET Vosges dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. La Rochelle will face UB Chartres (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. GET Vosges will play against Quimper UJAP (#16) and hope to win that game.
