Regular Season Round 10: Anwil - Siarka 86-81

Very expected game when 10th ranked Stabill Jezioro (4-5) lost to fourth ranked Anwil (8-3) in Wloclawek 81-86 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-17. But Stabill Jezioro won third quarter 21-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Anwil made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. It was a very good performance for Czech swingman David Jelinek (196-90) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 6 rebounds. Nigerian Chamberlain Oguchi (196-86, college: Illinois St., agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American power forward Zach Robbins (208-91, college: Dixie St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Gary Bell (190-92, college: Gonzaga) added 21 points in the effort for Stabill Jezioro. Five Anwil and four Stabill Jezioro players scored in double figures. Anwil moved-up to second place, which they share with Torun. Loser Stabill Jezioro dropped to the twelfth position with five games lost. Anwil will face league's leader Stelmet in Zielona Gora in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Stabill Jezioro will play at home against Rosa (#4) and hope to win that game.
