A very interesting game took place in Souffelweyersheim. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 9th ranked Souffelweyersheim (3-3) to fourth ranked JL Bourg (5-2) 85-82 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Souffelweyersheim. JL Bourg forced 20 Souffelweyersheim turnovers. 26 personal fouls committed by Souffelweyersheim helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by Philippe Braud (194-85) who scored that evening 21 points and American center Zachery Peacock (203-87, college: Georgia Tech) supported him with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Even 21 points by naturalized Mali swingman Sourata Cisse (196-86) did not help to save the game for Souffelweyersheim. American guard Matthew Gibson (195-84) added 13 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals for the hosts. Souffelweyersheim's coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. JL Bourg moved-up to third place, which they share with Evreux. Souffelweyersheim at the other side dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. JL Bourg's next round opponent will be Denain Voltaire (#14) at home which should be an easy win for them. Souffelweyersheim will play against Boulazac Basket (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
