Everything went according to plan when third ranked Rivas Promete (8-3) defeated at home 11th ranked Olimpico 64 (3-8) 57-51 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Rivas Promete dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Olimpico 64's 18. They outrebounded Olimpico 64 53-24 including a 23-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Lithuanian power forward Dovile Miliauskaite (187-89, college: Towson, agency: Josep and Nicolas) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 16 rebounds. Power forward Veronica Matoso (185-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals for the winners. point guard Esther Molinero (165-93) answered with 18 points and forward Irene San Roman (177-92) added 14 points in the effort for Olimpico 64. Rivas Promete moved-up to second place in Group B, which they share with Sant Adria. Olimpico 64 lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth position with eight games lost. Rivas Promete will face Picken Claret (#8) in Valencia in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Olimpico 64 will play on the road against UCAM Jairis in Alcantarilla and hope to win that game.
