Rather expected game in Aanekoski where 9th ranked Peli-Karhut (1-9) was crushed by seventh ranked Aanekosken (3-6) 89-67. The game without a history. Aanekosken led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Aanekosken forced 21 Peli-Karhut turnovers and outrebounded them 47-33 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Montia Johnson (185, college: Kent St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. Her fellow American import center Kenya Robinson (182-70, college: New Orleans) accounted for 11 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side. Four Aanekosken players scored in double figures. Aanekosken's coach Mervi Nurmi felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Dominique Mosley (182, college: Missouri So.) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and swingman Roosa Lehtoranta (176-97) added 20 points respectively for Peli-Karhut in the defeat. Aanekosken moved-up to sixth place. Peli-Karhut lost their fifth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Aanekosken will play against higher ranked HyPo (#3) in Hyvinkaa in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Peli-Karhut will have a break next round.
