Regular Season Round 14: CFBB - St Vallier 66-97

Bottom-ranked CFBB (0-14) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 97-66 loss to fifth ranked Saint Vallier (8-5) in Paris on Saturday evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to CFBB's 32 and made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Saint Vallier forced 27 CFBB turnovers and outrebounded them 40-27 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Power forward Harry Disy (200-84, college: Louisiana Tech) scored 22 points to lead the charge for the winners and Jonathan Hoyaux (196-88) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Five Saint Vallier players scored in double figures. International center Vincent Poirier (210-93, agency: Comsport) responded with 12 points and 9 rebounds and Bathiste Tchouaffe (194-98) scored 15 points and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). CFBB's coach Jean-Aime Toupane gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Saint Vallier moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Maurienne. Loser CFBB still closes the standings with 14 games lost. Saint Vallier will meet at home Mulhouse Basket (#10) in the next round where they are favorite. CFBB will play against Caen (#12) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
