Top ranked JX-Eneos S. (16-2) recorded its second loss in Kawasaki on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by second ranked Fujitsu RW (14-4) in overtime 97-93. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of JX-Eneos S.. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-15. But JX-Eneos S. won second period 27-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where JX-Eneos S. used huge pressure winning it 20-14 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 10-14. Fujitsu RW shot 65.7 percent from the field and made 25-of-27 free shots (92.6 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 29 long-distance shots on high 64.4 percentage. Fujitsu RW looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Fujitsu RW made 228 blocks. 46 personal fouls committed by JX-Eneos S. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was international forward Moeko Nagaoka (180-93) who scored 35 points (!!!). International point guard Rui Machida (161-93) chipped in 9 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists. The former international power forward Ramu Tokashiki (191-91) produced a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds and the former international forward Yuka Mamiya (185-90) added 23 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Fujitsu RW and five JX-Eneos S. players scored in double figures. Despite that victory Fujitsu RW went down to third position due to points difference. Defending champion JX-Eneos S. still keeps top place with two games lost. Fujitsu RW are looking forward to face league's second-placed Chanson V-M in Shizuoka in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. JX-Eneos S. will play at home against Toyota A. and is hoping to win this game.
