There was no surprise in Valdivia where 10th ranked CD Castro (8-12) was defeated by third ranked Las Animas (12-8) 82-75 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 26-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Las Animas had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Terrell Taylor (203-81, college: Virginia Tech, agency: DTMones) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points and 16 rebounds and forward Jose Cardenas (193-81) who added 13 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Las Animas players scored in double figures. Las Animas will meet bottom-ranked Puente Alto (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. CD Castro will play against Tinguiririca S.F. and hope to secure a win.
