Regular Season Round 7: Al Ahli - Al Khor 90-102

There was no surprise in Doha where 10th ranked Al Ahli (1-6) was defeated by fifth ranked Al Khor (3-3) 102-90 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Al Khor. Al Ahli was better in third quarter 23-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 28-of-35 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Al Khor looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Al Ahli was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Patrick Rembert (185-89, college: Cal-Irvine) fired 41 points (!!!) and 7 assists (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. Ivorian-American swingman Charles Abouo (197-89, college: BYU, agency: Dynamics Global Management) chipped in a double-double by scoring 30 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists and 9 steals. American-Togolese guard Jimmy Williams (196-86, college: Alders.-Broad.) produced 34 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Lamar Roberson (203-86, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Haylett Sports) added 25 points and 13 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Al Ahli players scored in double figures. Al Khor maintains fifth place with 3-3 record. Al Ahli lost their sixth game in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with six games lost. Al Khor will face Al Arabi (#7) in Doha in the next round.
