Regular Season Round 17: North Control B. - Guangsha L. 114-126

There was no surprise in Beijing where 10th ranked North Control (7-10) was defeated by second ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (15-2) 126-114. The game was mostly controlled by Zhejiang Guangsha Lions. North Control was better in second period 35-31. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions dominated down low during the game scoring 84 of its points in the paint compared to North Control's 58 and made 27-of-34 charity shots (79.4 percent) during the game. They outrebounded North Control 47-35 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. 33 personal fouls committed by North Control helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American point guard Jeremy Pargo (188-86, college: Gonzaga, agency: Priority Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 32 points and 8 assists. His fellow American import power forward Elijah Holman (208-89, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Pensack Sports) contributed with 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Uruguayan-Spanish power forward Esteban Batista (208-83, agency: Duran International) answered with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and Iranian point guard Mahdi Kamrani (181-82) added 25 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for North Control. Five Zhejiang Guangsha Lions and four North Control players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Xinjiang FT. North Control at the other side dropped to the eleventh place with ten games lost. Zhejiang Guangsha Lions' next round opponent will be Jiangsu Dragons (#14) in Nanjing which should be an easy win for them. North Control will play on the road against Shanghai Sharks and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
